My DVD ROM drive reads the ORIGINAL 2005/2006 no problem after cleaning it! I recently bought the West Europe 2010 MAP DVD copy and the UPDATE DVD v4.40 to allow me to run the new MAP DVD.

I know this is a long shot but i'm wondering if any forum members have a Ford Denso Nav unit which was fitted to the Mondeo, Focus & many other Fords from the 2004 - 2010 sort of date range. I need to get my hands on a firmware update disc (Ver 4.40) which came with the map DVD's from 2006 - 2012. Last Update January 3rd, 2020: HERE have recently announced that the new Honda Civic Navigation DVD for 2020 is now available. This latest update disc for the in-dashboard Honda Civic Navigation System includes every single road change and addition that has occurred over the last year since the last navigation update was released.

* Great Product: Updating dvd came with the mapping dvd allowing a straight forward software update to my aging Ford denso system (which took less than 5 mins from placing it into the dvd player & following the supplied instructions). From there, just eject the update dvd and pop in the mapping dvd and hey-presto, one fully updated system carrying the latest available maps.

Really pleased with updating the Software & Maps in my other halves Mondeo ST220, which were quite out-of-date to say the least.

Quick dispatch, precise clear instructions. Working perfectly. Saved me a fortune rather than going to Ford direct.
So, i try to explain to you step by step how i had my problem (black screen and only the possibility to use the climatisation) and how i have resolved it.
First. I have started my gps, extracted the old dvd (maps of navigation) and i have inserted the New version software (v4.40).
2nd. The gps has started the update and i have started the motor for battery but the gps has a power off. After that, i have à black screen and i can to use only my climatisation. For have not got this problem, don't cut off the gps or start the motor during the update.
Solution. I cut off my car and close doors with my key. After 10-15 min, i have openned my car and started my gps with dvd of new software version. After 10-15 min, the black screen had disappeared and i have the good behavior. Now i have the New software version and new maps version (2011-2012) After have inserted in DVD player the DVD with new maps.
DVDs are OK. Actually i don't have any problem.

First of all, shipment was very fast. I got software update working fine but the map disc got problems and my nav complained that it isnt proper map disk. I wrote mail for satnavdvd of problems and they send me new disk immediately. New disk working perfectly. This is customer service that should be every place.

Ford Denso Satnav disc The map DVD and the SW are OK. For anyone else buying one of these: - Before you start put the firmware CD in the dvd drive for the Satnav. The dvd drive is in the glove box at the top. Unclip the plastic cover and twist the two screws 90 degrees - the dvd drive will drop down. Press the eject button on the drive and replace the disc with the upgrade CD. Start the engine and DO NOT SWITCH IT OFF until you have finished the installs. Turn on the satnav and go into the hidden menu by holding the MENU and PHONE buttons down until a new menu appears. It will ask for a pin number - enter 1981, in the new menu select software update. If you already have the latest firmware it will probably eject the CD out of the DVD drive. If you need the firmware update it will be installed taking about 5 minutes altogether, you will see two different install pages before it is finished. When this is complete remove the CD from the dvd drive and replace with the new map DVD. reinstall the dvd drive and refit the two screws, then replace the plastic cover. Switch off the ignition and wait 30 seconds. Switch the engine on and the Satnav should read the new map. You may need to go through the other menu settings and choose the country, metric or imperial measuements etc.
